NEW YORK (AP) — Many stores in New York were closed on Saturday as Hurricane Irene neared, with some posting comical signs like Blame the weatherman. Not us and Evidently The Show Must Go On! means nothing to Irene. But New Yorks shopping districts still were bustling as people piled into any store that was open.
Merci Market in Chelsea had long lines as people bought deli sandwiches and fancier fare. People filed into The Container Store in Midtown to grab plastic boxes so they can use their indoor time constructively to organize. A

Recently, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority reached a settlement with farmers in Patwari village. The farmers will receive a higher compensation of Rs 550 per sq metre (over and above the Rs 850 per sq metre paid earlier) and 8% developed land, 2% more than what was promised to them earlier.
This agreement could become the basis for settlement with farmers in 10 other villages in Greater Noida that constitute an affordable housing hub called Noida Extension, where 250,000 apartments are being built at Rs 50,000 crore.
Case history: Around 2000 hectares of land was acquired by Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).

The dictionary defines independence as “freedom from the control and influence of others.” The pursuit of independence not only led to the American Revolution in the 1770s, but to the entrepreneurial one in the 1990s. I’ve long thought America’s founders and entrepreneurs have a lot in common. I don’t mean the actual act of owning a business — although Benjamin Franklin is considered by many to be America’s first entrepreneur — but rather a shared mindset.
Whether you aspire to lead a huge corporation or simply to be a solopreneur or freelancer, your goals are the same as that of America’s founders: to achieve freedom, liberty, and independence; to choose what you want to do and when you want to do it; to be responsible for your actions and reap the subsequent rewards.
